We're a group of business owners and local service providers that believe Rough River Lake is a great place to live, work, play and raise a family.

4th of July Fireworks Show - 2008 till present

We support collection of the donations for the 4th of July fireworks show...

When the state cut funding for the fireworks shows across many areas of KY in 2008, we stepped up to the plate.  Rough River Business & Tourism Assoc. works with the local 'Friends' organization and area merchants, lake business owners and other larger businesses in the surrounding areas that benefit from the many visitors to the lake during the 4th of July holiday.  We've been successful in funding the show since 2008.

Since then, we've worked hard to make sure that this holiday is celebrated at Rough River Lake as it should be...with our many visitors and their friends, family and loved ones, watching the fireworks explode over the water, with Old Glory flying in the background.

We are happy to accept donations from businesses and individuals alike in support of that show!

It's a great time for all!  We hope to see you there!

Rough River Lake Levels Remain Near Summer Pool Later in the Fall!

We also work closely with Rough River Dam State Resort Park management, the local Corp of Engineers (COE) office, as well as other state officials, to bring economic development opportunities to the lake.

We were successful, working with the local COE office, and the Louisville District, to get lake levels revised throughout the Green River District.  This includes Rough River, Lake Nolin and Barren River.  As a result, Rough River Lake (as well as the others) stay at summer pool almost a month longer in the late summer/fall.  This allows boaters and leaf peepers to enjoy the lake AND the gorgeous fall colors that adorn our lake during this season.

In 2013 and beyond, we'll continue to work closely with those tasked with managing this beautiful resource we call home.  As business owners and those with a vested interest in the continued economic development of this area, we appreciate your visit to our website and hope that you'll also VISIT OUR LAKE!

Thanks - hope to see you 'on the lake!'
